MD (Hom.)

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
No candidate shall be admitted to MD (Hom.) course unless he/ she possesses the degree of BHMS(Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery) or equivalent in Homoeopathy included in the schedule to the act, after undergoing a course of study of not less than five years and six months duration including one year compulsory internship.

The university or the authority prescribed by the central government or the state government, as the case may be shall select candidates on merit for Post Graduate course.

METHOD OF TRAINING:
Period of training: the period of training for MD (Hom.) shall be three years after full registration including one year of house job.

The emphasis shall be on in service training and not on didactic lectures. The candidate should take part in seminars, group discussions, clinical meetings and journal club.

The candidate shall be required to write a dissertation with detailed commentary, which would provide the candidate with necessary background of training in research methods and techniques along with the art of writing research papers and learning and making use of library.

The candidate shall be in the hospital campus and shall be given graded responsibility in the management and treatment of patients entrusted to his/ her care.

He/ she shall participate in teaching and training of undergraduate students and/ or interns.

Eligibility criteria for admission and manner of admission:-

(1) The eligibility for admission to M.D.(Homoeopathy) course shall be the following, namely: –

(a) No candidate shall be admitted to M.D.Homoeopathy) course unless he possesses the degree of:

(i)          Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification in Homeopathy included in the Schedule or medical qualification recognition list under the provisions of the Act, after undergoing a course of study of not less than five years and six months duration including one-year compulsory rotatory internship; or

(ii)         Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (Graded Degree) or equivalent qualification in Homeopathy included in the Second Schedule of The Homeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 (59 of 1973), after undergoing a course of study of not less than two years duration;

(b) The candidate has registered himself with the State Board or Council, as the case may be.

(2) There shall be a uniform entrance examination for all Homeopathic graduates, namely, All India A YUSH Post-Graduate Entrance Test examination for admission to the post-graduate course in medical institution in each academic year and shall be conducted by an authority designated by the National Commission for Homoeopathy:

Provided that for foreign national candidates, any other equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government may be allowed for admission and above provision of this sub-regulation shall not be applicable.

(3) No candidate obtaining less than 50th percentile in the All-India AYUSH Post-graduate Entrance Test for post-graduate course conducted for the said academic year shall be considered for such admission:

Provided that the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes obtain marks not less than 40 percentile and the candidates with the disability as specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016) obtain the marks not less than 45′ percentile in case of General category and not less than 40th percentile in case of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes shall be considered for admission:

Provided further that when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks in the All India AYUSH Post-graduate Entrance Test as specified above, held for any academic year for admission to post-graduate courses, the Commission may, in consultation with the Central Government, lower the marks required for admission to post-graduate course for candidates belonging to respective category and marks so lowered by the Commission shall be applicable for that academic year only.

(4) An All-India common merit list as well as State-wise merit list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared by the designated authority based on the marks obtained in the All-India AYUSH Post-graduate Entrance Test conducted for the academic year and the candidate within the respective category shall be considered for admission to post-graduate course from the said merit list.

(5) The seat matrix for admission in the Government institution, Government- aided institution and private institutions shall be fifteen per cent. for All- India quota and eighty-five per cent. for the State quota and the Union territory quota as the case may be:

Provided that, –

(a)         The All-India quota for the purpose of admission to the Deemed to be University, both Government and private shall be one hundred per cent.;

(b)         The University and institute having more than fifteen per cent. all India quota seat shall continue to maintain that quota;

(c)         Five per cent. of the annual sanctioned intake capacity in the Government and Government aided institutions shall be filled up by candidates with disability as specified under the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016).

Explanation:–  For the purposes of this regulation, the specified disability contained in the Schedule to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016) specified in Appendix

“A” and the eligibility of candidates to pursue a course in Homeopathy with specified disability shall be in accordance with the guidelines specified in Appendix “B”. If the seats reserved for the persons with disabilities in a particular category remain unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates, the seats shall be included in the annual sanctioned seats for the respective category.

(6) The designated authority for counselling of eighty-five per cent., State and Union territory quota for admissions to post-graduate course in all Homeopathic educational institutions in the States and Union territories including institutions established by the State Government, University, Trust, Society, Minority Institution, Corporation or Company shall be the respective State or Union territory in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations of the concerned State Government or Union territory Administration, as the case may be.

(7) The counselling for all admissions to the post-graduate course for seats under all India quota as well as for all Homoeopathy educational institutions established by the Central Government shall be conducted by the authority designated by the Central Government.

(8) The admission shall be done,-

(a)         Through counselling as per sub-regulation (b) of regulation 5 except for foreign nationals;

(b)         by any manner other than the manner specified in these regulations shall not be approved and any institution found admitting the students in contravention of the provisions of regulation 5 of these regulations shall be denied permission for taking admission for subsequent academic year;

(9) The medical institutions shall have to submit the list of all admitted students in the format decided by the Commission on or before six p.m. on the cutoff date for admission decided by it from time to time;

(10) The medical institutions shall also provide the list of the admitted students who have been allotted seats through the counselling authority (Central, State or Union territory, as the case may be) except foreign nationals.

(11) The candidate who fails to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as referred to under sub- regulation (3), shall not be admitted to the post-graduate course in the said academic year.

(12) No authority or medical institution shall admit any candidate to the post-graduate course in contravention of the criteria or procedure specified in these regulations and any admission made in contravention of this regulation shall be cancelled by the Commission forthwith.

(13) The authority or medical institution which grants admission to any student in contravention of the provisions of these regulations shall be dealt within the manner as specified under the clause (f) of sub-regulation (1) of regulation 28 of the Act.

(14) The medical institution shall send the final list of admitted students to the Commission within one month of closure of admissions and the Commission shall verify the medical institution to ensure the compliance of the provisions of the regulations at any time.

FEES SCHEDULE:

As prescribed by KNR University of Health Sciences and Government of Telangana.

ATTENDENCE:

  1. A) Students are required to attend not less than 85% of lectures in Theory and 85% Practicals , clinical/ Seminars etc. Of each subject, in order to qualify to appear for annual university examinations.
  2. B) All tests or examinations conducted by the college or its various departments are compulsory for the students of the college

DISCIPLINE:

Students are required to maintain high standards of discipline. They are subjected to the rules and regulations of the college, NCH (National commission for Homoeopathy) and the KNR University of Health Sciences, as are displayed on the notice board from time to time.

The principal reserves the right to rusticate the name of student from the role for failure to pay the dues or unsatisfactory conduct or poor performance in the examination conducted by the college and its departments.

IDENTITY CARD:

The identity card signed by the principal is mandatory for every student. They must carry the identity card on their person. If lost a duplicate card can be obtained on prescribed payment.

RAGGING:

Ragging in any form within or outside the college/ Hospital/ Hostel campus is strictly prohibited.
