In accordance with the theme for World Environment Day 2024 – Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience, JIMS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Department of Community Medicine and NSS Unit had organized an Awareness programme in Mandal Parishad Primary School of Pappireddyguda village on 13th June 2024.
The event started with an awareness rally to motivate the local residents about reduction of plastic use, plantation of trees and appropriate segregation and disposal of waste. Thereafter tree plantation programme was conducted in the premises of MPP school followed by an interactive session with students to educate them about pollution, it’s consequences and the need to address these issues. School students actively participated with lot of enthusiasm in the awareness rally, tree plantation and quiz. NSS volunteers presented a beautiful skit to enhance students understanding for environment conservation.
The event was attended by Mr. Sathyanarayana, Village Secretary, Gram panchayat staff, MPP school teachers, Anganwadi workers, school students along with Dr. Poonam N. Sutar, Professor and HOD, Dr. Viraj Kumar, Associate Professor, Mr. Sanyasi Naidu, MSW from Department of Community Medicine and Final year BHMS students and NSS volunteers.
