Homoeopathy in Eruptive fevers
Eruptive fever refers to an entity where there is a skin eruption associated or as a resultant of fever. Eruptive fevers are common diseases of the childhood. Eruptive fevers could be infective, allergic or autoimmune in origin. They may vary from mild to severe in intensity and may prove to be benign or life threatening conditions.
Viral infections are the commonest causes of eruptive fever. Chicken pox, measles, rubella, dengue, herpez zoster, infectious mononucleosis are viral diseases showing high prevalence. Whereas, Scarlet fever, erysipelas, typhoid, typhus are the diseases caused by bacterial infections.
Most viral infections are highly contagious. They occur in epidemics and are mainly treated with supportive measures. Occasionally eruptive fever gives rise to serious life threatening complications. Pregnant women, infants, older adults, diabetics and immunocompromised people are at a high risk of these complications. Pneumonia, kidney and heart affection, dehydration, brain infection, bleeding, infection of the newborn are some of them.
Homoeopathy has an excellent scope in management of eruptive fevers of various aetiologies. Homoeopathy acts to augment the host immunity which allows the sick child to combat the disease process. Homoeopathy acts very well in individual cases as well as for masses in epidemics. During an epidemic, indicated medicine administered to non- infected individuals confers immunity against the offending agent.
Only a few doses of the correctly chosen homeopathic remedy are needed to restore order in the sick child. Homeopathic remedy shortens duration of the illness, relieves the suffering, and prevents complications. Homoeopathy also treats complications such as pneumonia, heart and kidney affections, haemorrhage etc.
Homoeopathy is a blessing for a child with eruptive fever.
