On the occasion of World Environment Day, 5th June 2024, the Department of Community Medicine and NSS unit of JIMS HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE AND Hospital organized an awareness programme on the theme of land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience.
Land degradation, desertification, and drought are among the most important environmental challenges, with up to 40% of the world’s land area degraded.
NSS volunteers from the final year of BHMS gave a comprehensive presentation, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and providing practical measures that can be taken for successful land and natural water source restoration.
They also emphasized the programmes the government initiated towards achieving a sustainable environment.
The awareness speech was followed by the Environment Day Pledge, which students and faculty members took with a commitment to inculcate long-term environment-friendly habits.
